Polenta is made from ground corn and has been traditionally used in Italian slow-cooked dishes. This variety of organic polenta is a quick-cook variety, which means you can make your favourite polenta-based recipes in just a few minutes. Polenta is super versatile and can be cooked into a creamy thick consistency, or allowed to set and then sliced into delectable polenta chips.
To cook, add one cup of polenta to four cups of boiling water and a pinch of salt, stirring continuously and then let simmer for five minutes. Take it off the heat and fold in a knob of butter and/or grated parmesan cheese if desired. Polenta can be added to stews or slow-cooked dishes, as well as made into a paste to make crunchy corn-flavoured chips. Polenta chips are seriously tasty when dipped into something homemade and creamy, or served alongside a main dish.
